Yesterday, I had a pretty terrible call with an awesome small business owner. Connection kept breaking up, and beyond that, I kept pushing the conversation along, even though it definitely felt like she was not having fun. Moments like this definitely feel sucky, but they also remind me—especially during a sprint, like we’re in right now—the importance of meeting people where they are and building with intentionality and holistic care. How do we sprint and also take care to help people along rather than drag them along? How do we keep our pace without pushing people off the course? Because we’re doing this for everyone. It’s hard for me to get past failures that make me question my own personal ability, prolly will temporarily internalize and feel badly, but I know at least what I can do better :) We can only go on, so we go on.
